In the Community

Carlisle Bay has strong ties with schools and charities surrounding our beautiful resort.

Island Academy International
Where the world’s children come to learn, with one mission from many backgrounds. Offering a world-class education that enables a diverse community of students to function successfully, both academically and socially, in the global community.

Island Academy (IA) is a private school and accredited as a K-13 school with the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Education and as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. It is the only IB school in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States and the only international school on the island.

The goal is to offer a world-class education that will enable our diverse community of students to function successfully, both academically and socially in the global community. In addition to promoting the IB attributes, our students learn to value diversity and to respect cultural and socioeconomic differences.

With just a dollar a day to IA, a contribution per day of your stay in Antigua, you too can help a local child from a disadvantaged background access high quality education, thereby investing in the sustainable future of Antigua and Barbuda!

Adopt a Coastline
Carlisle Bay has partnered with Adoptacoastline for the Community Coastal Stewardship of Carlisle Bay beach and Old Road village in Antigua. The recent community beach and village clean up welcomed over 50 volunteers to remove 60 plus 24-gallon biodegradable bags of trash from the environment. Youth Coastal Stewards from Old Road Primary School have installed a beach bin made from tyres salvaged from landfill and painted it the famous Adoptacoastline blue with a stencilled request to ‘Keep Antigua Nice’. They have planted 10 coconut palm trees, one each, to care for throughout the year (provided by Good Humans 268) and are excited about upcoming plans for making signage and a seating area from organic materials found on the beach. We are very proud of the youth stewards aged from 7 to 11 years old, becoming Adoptacoastline ambassadors and ocean advocates for Antigua and Barbuda encouraging us all to care for our  coastlines.

Future Adoptacoastline and Carlisle Bay clean ups are scheduled throughout the remainder of the year. You are all invited to join us to ‘Keep Antigua Nice’
