Ease yourself into the weekend with a glass of Champagne and a three course meal in either of the resort's great restaurants, East or Indigo on the Beach. Then relax and watch a movie in the luxurious screening room.

 

This season of great movies runs every Friday from 18 January to 4 April 2008.

 

Arrive for dinner at 7pm, the movie screening starts at 9pm.

 

US$65 per person for a glass of Champagne, dinner and a movie. Price includes tax and service and excludes any other drinks or coffee.

The Last King of Scotland - 18 January

Dr Nicholas Garrigan travels to Uganda as a volunteer, but over the course of time finds himself in a senior position of President Idi Amin's health department. The two form a close bond, however as Amin's behaviour grows increasingly erratic, Garrigan has to fight to go home and leave the lunatic leader and Uganda in bloody ruin.

 

The Ladykillers - 25 January

A remake of the 1955 comedy, the story revolves around a Southern professor who puts together a group of thieves to rob a casino. They rent a room in an old woman's house, but after she discovers the plan they are left with the difficult task of killing her.

 

John Tucker Must Die - 1 February

The three ex-girlfriends of a serial cheater join forces to set their former lover up. He must fall for the new girl in town so they can watch him get his heart broken. 

 

Little Man - 8 February

A wannabe Dad mistakes a vertically challenged criminal as his newly adopted son and welcomes him into his home. However the criminal is intent on recovering a huge diamond that he has planted in the family home.

 

The Number 23 - 15 February

Walter Sparrow becomes obsessed with an old detective novel, a mystery around the number 23. He starts to believe that the book was written about him and as his obsession increases, more and more similarities seem to arise. Starring Jim Carey.

 

Hot Fuzz - 22 February

Jealous colleagues conspire to get a top London cop transferred to a small town and paired with a witless new partner. On the beat, the pair stumble upon a series of suspicious, grisly accidents and events. It would appear that the village is not what it seems.

 

Music & Lyrics - 29 February

A washed up singer has a couple of days to compose a chart-topping hit for an aspiring teen sensation. Though he's never written a decent lyric in his life, he sparks with an offbeat younger woman with a flair for words. Starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore.

 

Blood Diamond - 7 March

Set in Sierra Leone, Blood Diamond explores the role of diamond trading in the African civil war of the late 1990s. Danny Archer a white African diamond smuggler gets wind of a large rare jewel found by a native fisherman who is in search of his war-scattered family.

 

Ghost Rider - 14 March

Based on the Marvel character, stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze gives up his soul to become a hell blazing vigilante, to fight against power hungry Blackheart, the son of the devil himself.

 

36 Quai des Orfèvres - 21 March 

In the underbelly of the Parisian criminal world, the police are frustrated by a gang committing a series of violent robberies. As two cops compete to become the next Chief, the usual lines of morality become blurred in their quest for supremacy.  

 

The Host - 28 March

An American military base intentionally releases toxic chemicals into the Han River. Six years later a mutant squid monster leaves the water and starts to attack and kidnap people. The local people are forced to join forces to rescue their loved ones.

 

Hairspray 4 April

Teenager Tracy Turnblad achieves her dream of becoming a regular on the Corny Collins Dance Show. As a teen hero, she uses her fame to speak out for the causes she believes in, most of all integration. Her views earn the wrath of other members of the show until the rivalry comes to a head in the battle for the title of Miss Auto Show 1963.

 

The Holiday - 11 April

A lovable love story which begins with two successful, yet unhappy women who connect through a home-swapping website and decide to trade houses to forget their man troubles. Starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.
